Forgive me for asking a question, which probably every one else knows, but how do I find the Sorenson database?
Peter.

The number of this haplotype in continental Europe is so small they could be
random mutations from more normal lines of R1b. The concentration in
Ireland was so strong in the pedigrees I examined my view is that the
variety took off there in population --- perhaps during a neolithic
immigration into the island.

The way I look at the origination of a new variety like this, the founder
was just one of the distribution of a previous population with his own
haplotype deviating at some markers from the modal; he moved and founded a
new population which flourished with now this displaced modal haplotype.

I think there are too many Irish with this variety well dispersed in name
and location in Ireland for this to have exploded in the historic era. You
could if you wanted check all 152 pedigrees at Sorenson.
