percentage doesn't seem to be so large as to make Y-chromosome tests useless.
I hear numbers all over the map, but it's always in the form of "they" say
the percentage is such and such, and the numbers seem to grow like an urban
legend. I suppose the results of any scientific surveys would be fairly
specific for the population they studied anyway.
It will be interesting to see if other descendants want to test themselves.
The more people who are involved, the more chances you have of clarifying
which branch you belong to, but each individual runs a risk of learning
something he might not want to know. Are your current members "grandfathered"
into the society regardless of DNA test results?
