Karen, my colleagues Ron and Chuck give you sage advice. There are
many issues to think about when setting up a DNA study. I know Doug
Mumma and I both feel strongly about maintaining control of the
study--acting as Project Managers. Your participants would sign a
release that you send them, absolving you of any liabilities should
there be any problems, such as you breaching their privacy by
publishing their FULL name on a website or book, along with their DNA
results. You can read more about these types of issues at
http://www.duerinck.com/project.html and associated pages. I believe
on that page also is a listing of all DNA projects that I am aware of
that are on the web. If there are subscribers to this list that do not
see there project listed and would like it so, send me a private
email.
Good luck, and if you have questions once you start going through all
of the material or at the testing stage or results stage, let any or
all of us know and we can guide you.
thanks,
Kevin Duerinck
