Alan,
The number 50 seems to be a very important number. My arithmetic says that
it is inconsistent with other information posted here. It is probably just
a matter of my not understanding something. Could you please resolve the
apparent conflict.
There seemed to be a common agreement among experts that a single marker
would change value about 3 times out of 1000 generations. This seems to lead
to a change in a 50 marker haplotype about 150 times out of 1000 generations
or about 15% per generation. That seems to fall short of a unique surname
haplotype.
