Hi Penny,
I'm not too sure where in MO they lived. I think it might have been Hickory
Co., but I've not found any on the census. I do know one of my G-Uncles was in
St. Louis, or somewhere near-by. A lot of my Brewer's went to Blount, Hancock
and Hawkins Co. Tenn. My Osborne's ended up in Mo. then just before my Grandma
was born, they came to Mogan, and Menifee Co. Ky. I guess they lived on the
borders, because they're in one census one time, and in another later. Of
course, the lines changed. MY G-Grandfather owned all of Menifee Co at one
time, but it was parts of other counties at the time. I've hunted through
every MO census I could find for James Wesley Osborne, and John Stephen
Osborne, but with no luck. I think they migrated to MO from Va to escape the
Melungeon taint, before coming to Ky. Even as late at 1900 the Melungeons were
still looked down upon in Virginia.
