On list: Public Apology! I'm sorry if I seemed mean spirited, Mary,
because that certainly was not my intention! Sometimes we (I) say
things and don't realize how they may sound - so again, I'm sorry if I
offended you.
My intention was to agree with you but point out that in this life we
all get a lot of crap which irritates us but that often we have to live
with it simply because there is little else we can do and life is too
short.
Invasion of your workplace is something else. I don't have experience
with that since I retired before the Internet was available to the
general public. However, we did have networked computers.
If I were you, I'd report this to whoever is in charge of your network
and ask them how to handle the situation. You must have what they call
a 'firewall' - perhaps they could put a block on that source. At least
it would get you off the hook by reporting it to your employer which I
think you should do in any case. I'm sure there are things which can be
done even when stuck up against the 1st amendment to the Constitution.
It seems that there is freedom OF speech and OF religion but there
doesn't seem to be a freedom NOT to listen nor a freedom FROM religion -
just a small oversight in this complex world.
