Ann, I am immensely interested, and curious about the Boon/Boone -
Reichert/Richard DNA relationship. The truth of the
matter is, I don't know what I should do next. Would it be reasonable for me
to have my DNA analyzed by Family Tree DNA? I would be willing to do this if
it would simplify anything. I find it interesting that my DNA numbers match
those of Boon/Boone Participant #1306, but none of the other Boon/Boone
family males.
This leads me to speculate that #1306 may have been a Richard descendant, of
a fairly recent generation. Perhaps a widowed Richard wife, pregnant by her
deceased husband, married a Boon man and they gave the baby his surname. The
Boone and Richard families seem to have had at least a nominal social
interaction in the Harrison County, Indiana area, during the early to mid
1800s. My Indiana Richard people came to Indiana from Frederick County,
Virginia, about 1817. It is possible that some of the Boone families also
came from that same area in Virginia, and that the families had been in
social contact for a generation of two. What I am saying is that maybe the
Boon - Richard link dates back to Frederick County, Virginia, around the
time of the Revolutionary War, or shortly thereafter.

Yes, Ann, I did have my "Reply to:" field set to my address. I have changed
that
to blank, so future responses should go to the mailing list. Sorry. I didn't
realize it had this effect.

I did get a message from Dell Ariola, forwarded below;

Hi Gordon....This is really interesting, I was hoping someone on the DNA
List would comment on it, but I didn't see anything.

We used Family Tree DNA for our testing and I understand that Dr. Michael
Hammer, head of the lab at the University of Arizona will release his
'scores' for his other proprietary 6 DYS numbers very soon, as soon as his
paper is published. Then, we should be able to compare all the numbers and
see if the others match, too.

Thanks for sending your numbers, I look forward to the day when we can
compare them. Also, I'm sure you've seen that Orin Wells is in the process
of setting up a website for DNA matching. That will be of help, too.
Later..Dell
