As was pointed out to me, the "Cheddar Man" was actually found in one of
the caves in Cheddar whereas the "Lindow Man" was the one found in the peat
bogs around Lindow. I seem to have gotten them crossed up in my gradually
melting brain mass.
Does anyone know if they have done DNA sampling on any of the 200-300+ "Bog
Men" they have found around Europe? Apparently these chaps are around
2,000 - 2,500 years old. Also, they have found bits and pieces of "Bog
Men" in the Florida Everglades that date back about 7,000 years. Same
question. Have the scientists done DNA sampling on any of these?
Does anyone know if they have actually been able to obtain y-DNA from the
"Ice Man"? How about the "Cheddar Man" and the "Bog Men"?
