Sorry the Melungeons got caught in the up-draft. I should have been more specific.
I know that the Melungeons are involved with DNA studies and interested in other
effects of DNA on some of their physiological conditions. In fact I posted earlier
that there was a lot of Melungeon information already posted in the archives back
August and earlier. I realize that there are new people signing on all of the
time. It would serve them well to look over what has already been said. A lot of
good stuff has already been posted and it is even searchable!

I was referring to the other topics like "black Irish, Germans, Spanish, etc. etc"
the kinky hair, dark skin, and speculation about wives 'fooling around' and such
implications that if someone doesn't look as expected according to his
racial/national group then he must have a contaminated genealogy. That stuff is, I
think, inappropriate for this List.

My apologies to you Melungeons for my careless oversight. BTW, have you been able
to verify the Portugese/Mooish connection yet via DNA?
