And I agree with you, Gerald! The average Joe Blow will probably not "find
grand-uncle Blow" via DNA testing. I just looked over your previous posts and
wonder just what it is that you expect DNA testing to do for you and what you expect
to learn from this list?
After all, all you have to do is go to one of the four or five web sites of the DNA
laboratories if you want to find out what services they perform and then decide
whether they can provide the answers which would help you solve your genealogy
problems. Why waste your time learning anything about genetics - that's their job
right?
I'm sorry if I seem testy, but it seems to me that if a subject comes up and there
are several who are interested and respond then the subject is legitimate - if it
isn't too far "off-topic." If no one responds, it should, of course be dropped.
Certainly not everyone is going to be interested in every subject, but it seems to
me that there should be a certain level of tolerance for the interests of others.
Bear in mind that the key word for this list is DNA, not genealogy. There are
hundreds of genealogy lists.
