Subject: [DNA] Testing Info Please

Hi everyone! This is my first time writing to the list. Could someone tell
me if there are web sites available that could enlighten me on how to read
the results of DNA testing and how to compare the results to others? My
fellow family researchers and I are preparing for our upcoming DNA testing
and would like to hear from anyone who tested through Ancestry.com. We want
to get the most out of our money and are unsure about the new Ancestry
program. We like the fact that we will have access to their DNA database for
a year, but wonder if we will be able to interpret the results on our own.
The Relative Genetics lab in Utah only allows one search in their database
and that's it, but offer a group analysis sheet to the group leader. They
are also more expensive than Ancestry.com.

I have been reading the list for a week or two now and read how many of you
entered your results into other databases on the web. Could someone post a
list of those databases and how to use them? I am determined to learn as
much as I can about this subject. Hopefully, I'll become a valuable addition
to this great group of list members. I'm impressed with everyone's knowledge
of DNA testing.

Thanks,

Tina Couick McRorie
