Southern boy! Well, that sure changes everything! John wouldn't know about
southern boys because he lives in New England, I think. :>)

Much more seriously, I've known several Mitchells and I don't think any of them were
necessarily connected in "real time." Do you have any idea how the name came about
- the origin of the name? You know, like Page, Smith, Fields, Wells. There may be
many origins of the name so you and #1 belong in different lines. If in fact, you
have genealogical evidence that you and/or #1 are connected with the others, then
you might consider such things as adoptions both official and unofficial and other
situations.

Remember that years ago the extended family had to provide support for children when
the father was killed. There was no such thing as insurance or welfare. For example
a Mitchell girl could have married, had children and then her husband was killed.
Her family most probably would have taken her and the children in. If the children
were young they probably were renamed so that they would fit in.

I simply don't believe that it had to be one of Orin's sex crazed pirates to be the
primary reason for a mismatch in DNA! I don't think we should assume that the past
was as flagrant as the present morality. It wasn't during most of my life - at least
up to Kennedy - things went to hell after that. Sorry, Orin.
