You can use the allele scores from FTDNA directly.

I believe FTDNA reports exact matches only. Orin Wells, one of our list
members, is working on a web site where people can enter their own data,
regardless of which lab did the testing. You can well imagine this will be
complicated, since different labs use different markers. I'm not sure how he
plans to handle close matches.
