Ann, I wasn't given any film info (pix) but did receive numeric values in
chart form for myself vs each of my sibs. I hope the ersatz table below
holds its shape when I send it...heheh...
Allele Values
--------------------------------------------------------------------
marker ME Sib1 Sib2 Sib3 Sib4 Sib5
D2S44 3.11 3.11 1.58 3.11 1.75 1.58
1.58 1.75 1.28 1.75 1.58 1.28
D4S163 4.49 5.11 4.49 5.11 4.49 5.11
3.20 4.49 1.68 4.49 1.68 4.49
D6S132 2.73 2.73 3.21 2.73 2.73 3.21
1.24 2.73 1.24 1.24 2.73
D7S467 6.58 5.20 5.20 5.20 6.58 6.58
4.44 3.17 3.17 3.17 5.20 5.20
D10S28 3.52 4.13 3.39 4.13 4.13 4.13
1.74 3.52 1.51 3.52 3.52 3.52
Sibs 4&5 were the ones 99.98% and 1&3 were said to be 98.8% probable for
*full* siblingship. Sib2 was given 57.8% probability of full siblingship.
One of the lab techs at Beta-Genetics told me that the films showed only
FOUR bands, in spite of the fact there appear to be 5 alleles found in the 6
of us.
They sent me a reference to a report as to how they arrived at the
conclusions
they aspired to on my behalf <grin>. Alas, the math involved was beyond what
I can follow these days...but my gut feeling as a lab type person (chemist)
told me the evidence wasn't in the numbers to support full siblingship
(based on what little I have been able to learn about this DNA stuff in the
last year or so)
If this doesn't come out as readable...I will try to figure out something
else.
thanks, Chris
