the mtDNA testing and y-Chromosome DNA testing would be of no use in your
case.

If your mother is available and you have some of the Berkely family willing
you might be able to get one of the labs to do a paternity type cousin
test. You may need two or more cousins from each family to get a
definitive answer. I would contact Relative Genetics, Family Tree DNA AND
GeneTree as all three have testing programs for this sort of thing. I
don't know the relative costs or the exact testing scenarios they would
suggest. I think consultation with their people would be in order.
