Sorry this is a little late, I am just catching up with my mail.
I am married to a Scot and know many Scottish people as a result. I can
assure you that it is not an overstatement or that only 'oddities' take
offence. It is quite simple...Scotch Whisky / Scotch Broth and Scotch Beef
but not Scotchman or Scotchwoman. It is most definitely offensive to the
majority of Scots and just shows ignorance of the race and it's language.
