What! Somebody WANTS a technical term? <g> Actually, nonpaternity seems to be
widely used. I used it as a key word at PubMed and got numerous hits. I
checked a few abstracts, and I didn't see any alternative words, but that's a
negative finding. Bryan Sykes used the phrase "nonpaternity events" in his
paper.

Here's the URL for PubMed. I'm entering it a slightly different way this
time. The last time I let AOL turn a URL into a clickable link, some of you
(including the archives) saw the underlying HTML source code (with an A and a
HREF etc). It appears that some e-mail readers will translate phrases
starting with http on their own initiative, and including the source turns it
into a "tandem repeat," as Nancy Custer observed. Other e-mail readers
require the source (AOL) and still others don't seem to care (?Netscape).

This time I am putting an arbitrary character ">" smack up against the http.
Those of you with e-mail readers which know how to parse http stuff may see
the URL as a clickable link; others will need to copy and paste. But I hope
none of you see the underlying HTML source. I'll check the archives to see
how this message appears there.

PubMed is a great resource for key word searching in the technical
literature. Don't forget to view the abstracts, where you can check links to
publishers for full text when available, use the Related Articles link and
get textbook references with the Links link.
