Dear Jeanne:
There are a couple options that make sense for low cost.
A: MS Office has excell and Access. Either one can be
easily adapted to your needs below. Access is a full
relational database. It's the one we're using on our
Scottish Clans DNA project. It's easy to configure and
can import data from text based data and excell etc.
The one big advantage of Office is the complete
suite of products is interactive so you can import data
from one product to the other and also import data
from other sources. It's also easy to export to other
programs such as mail, etc etc.
B: Ancestry .com has also a free Genealogy program that
you can download from their home page. It has a
section for data.
C: You mention that you are using FTM. I assume you've
using version 10. It has a pretty decent medical section
under the "more" button. You then select the outline
descendants report and then select the content that you
want in that report. Select name and medical information
and you will get a list of all descendants and only their
medical information ( or whatever else you want).
Best Regards
John A Hansen
