I think that's a very healthy attitude! People who sign up for this mailing
list are under no obligation to understand every single word and concept. To
use an automobile analogy, the message traffic tends to be dominated by
people who are curious about "what's under the hood," so it can get pretty
esoteric. But we all want to know what road to take as we search for our DNA
cousins. Congratulations on finding one.
