Hi Bill: I have "12 marker" matches with 6 individuals, none of whom are related to me in any known way. If there is a relationship, it is well over 1000 years ago - not very informative. These individual's ancestors come from Sweden, Germany, Ireland, and England. To get any really meaningful results it is necessary to go to the 24 or 25 marker options offered by FamilyTreeDNA (University of Arizona and their own database), or Ancestry.com (BYU database). I have had this testing done by both and so far no matches (not unexpected) - however my DNA is a very close match for those in Doug Muma's study (all have German or Swedish ancestry), being only two to three markers from the "classic" Muma profile. I suspect a relationship here, but cannot support it with the documentary sources. David.

But he did have matches with two other names.
A Mr Dow and a Mr Johnson
I know FTDNA Only has about 7000 names now This seem Strange that he had
two name out that small amount that match without being in a group and
trying to match up names.
Is this common for other names to match Dna with one another like this??
