I got my mtDNA results a few days ago, and found some good web sites with
population migration information, along with some matches from Family Tree
DNA.

My friend received his Y-line today from Oxford Ancestors, and we are having
difficulty finding this type of information for him, although some was
available from the site included in their instructions. I've browsed the
posts on this mailing list - and found snippets - but not really anything
resembling a frequently asked questions (FAQ) list or a listing of links,
etc.

People have been referring to the US and European lists. Where are these
located? Also, someone else referred to the University of Arizone Ethnic
Origins data base, but I can't find anything like this.

Can someone please post a list someplace, or point me to it, that lists some
web sites that explain these things, some that provide haplotype information
for ylines, explain how you figure out what haplotype a male is, and where
you find things like the Britton and Norwegian types being discussed, etc.

I'm sorry to be so ignorant - and while it's exciting to be in the beginning
of a new technology like this - the lack of "DNA for Dummys" is somewhat
frustrating.

Thanks for your help.

Roberta
