One of you out there may be descended from the matrilineal line of Antony
and Cleopatra.

One of there daughters was Cleopatra Selene. She had children, incluing a
son and several daughters who married into both European, Jewish, and North
African families. One of her grandchildren was married by Josephus Flavius
of Judea. Another married into a Greek family, another into an African
family, and some went to various European countries over the generations.
You never know. Most people don't know Cleopatra had fraternal twins by Marc
Antony named AlexanderHelis and Cleopatra Selene. They had many children.
Then Cleopatra had a third child, her son, Ptolemy Philadelphos, killed by
his cousin, Caligula. Antony had many children by his former wife, Octavia,
who reared Cleopatra's children when Antony and Cleopatra passed on.

The grandchildren had many children who married into European families as
well as families in the Middle East. So one of their direct lines may have
come all the way to you....and you don't even have to be Italian. So you
never know who you're related to. I found this out checking the genealogy
through the generations for my current novel, Romans of Fortune. I didn't
realize that Nero's great grandma was Cleopatra's daughter by Antony, and a
lot of modern Mauretanians today in Africa are related to King Juba, husband
of Cleopatra's second daughter by Antony. You never know who may be your
great great great etc. grandma or pa.
