Hello Beth:
Hope you saw my posting to Bonnie re the my error in recording my mother - in - law's mtDNA numbers.
No, I am entirely (as far as I know) English Canadian. Only one ancestor from Quebec, and her name was Maria Miller - ancestry unknown. Come to think of it another ancestor was from New Brunswick, but she appears to have been adopted so cannot say much other that it is possible she was Acadian.
David.

Are you by any chance French Canadian, i.e., Acadian? The reason I ask is
because some Melungeons match Louisiana Cajuns in DNA scores. Apparently the
French Canadians had several former Moors and Sephards among their ranks;
they tended to be dark in complexion, Mediterranean in appearance. (I think
there is even a website up now for French Canadians who have learned of this
early ancestry). Beth
