Subject: [DNA] Clark 25 marker results
Date: Tue, 29 Apr 2003 12:59:48 -0700

Hi Group,
More Clark results came back from FTDNA today. In fact, they arrived in
less than four weeks!
Our second Clark testee had a perfect match with the first Clark testee in
our line on the 12 markers. On the 25 markers, there was one difference
which was on allele 458. One had 16; the other had a value of 17. Is there
any special significance about # 458?

The two Clarks above are from my father's generation. The paper trail shows
that the men's MCR ancestor is their great, great grandfather, Eli Clark,
four generations back if I'm counting correctly. So these second test
results rule out a non-paternity event and show a single mutation occurred
at some point. Right?

At this time, no other Clarks in the Clark DNA study have had the 25 marker
test, but one who matches several people 11/12 is going to upgrade to it.
Hopefully, we will soon find matches beyond our paper trail. I find this
all so thrilling!
.
Regards,
Mitzi Clark Bateman
