Hello Diane

There has already been a lot of discussion on the meaning of the small
percentages of NA that have turned up in many tests from apparently
'European' people.

So, here are my comments.

The tests are probably correct for what is being tested - there seems not
to be any real variation between samples when they are re- tested.

Therefore, either:-

The test is correct - i.e. if you test a lot of your relatives you will
find an
acceptable pattern of inheritance that suggests a definite 'NA' link.

E.g. samples from both parents, if available, should explain the findings
from a child !

Or,
the test doesn't do what it claims - i.e. it doesn't use alleles that
properly
distinguish between Europeans and North Americans (more correctly
early Mexican popultations - I understand).

In my opinion it is probably the second option which is correct. Perhaps,
we will find that as 'more' and 'better' alleles are tested in the future
then
the accuracy of results will improve.

Any comments anyone?
