There is one Daffee, one Daffy and one Daffye listed in the index to
Mercer's Bermuda Settlers of the 17th Century. All have given name Sam or
Samuel and based just on the index may refer to one person.
Patrick, did you apply the Welsh Celtic pronunciation "daffy" to "David" or
to "Daoud".
