I'm not bothered by the term. It is as good as half-breed or any other
descriptive English word. I'm bothered by the implication of jumping from three
English-Powhatan marriages to a generalization that very few mixed race marriages
occurred. I think there were a lot of those marriages. However, when people
think the southern most town in the US is in Virginia they are not going to see
many of them.
