There are two Africas' as far as the DNAPrint Biogeographical test is
concerned.
Sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa. North Africa includes the Moors and
Berbers etc - i.e. and this is a generalisation, not Negro black Africans. I
suspect that it has something to do with how far north the Mosquito lived in
ancient times resulting in the null gene for black Africans.
Interestingly the global warming has resulted in the malaria mosquito
reaching the other side of the Med. Sea.
The lines on the BGA map of the world need to be altered to more accurately
reflect the so-called four different ancestries. (I happen to think that
apart from some natives in the Amazonian jungle we are all too mixed up to
have any meaningful test- but that is another matter).
Since the test cannot differentiate between "waves" of Asians to and from
the Americas, there should be three categories and not four
Sub-Saharan Africa (black Africa) - so a line across the south Sahara
Indo-European is from Bangladesh to Great Britain - so an arcing line across
Europe (see next category)
Asia is from Eastern Europe to East coast of the Americas ( Slavic
countries, Russia, China, Polynesia, Americas) - an arcing line across
Europe.

Annie,
If I remember correctly, you're basically Greek? You might be interested in
this URL, which talks about Greek mtDNA:

I was expecting lots of African ancestry, specifically North African, but
didn't get it at all. Instead, got 97% European and 3% East Asian, which I'm
told is probably statistical fluctuation. I would have guessed my mtDNA
would be found along the Nile Valley and in the Levant, SE Europe, and
Middle East/Greece/Anatolia. What I got was most matches in Norway,
Scotland, England, and some in Bulgaria, Austria, and Germany/Poland.
What' I'm told is that there was a back migration from Central and Western
Europe back into the Levant in three waves, Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and
Neolithic, and that 15% of the Middle East and N. Africa is made up of
Europeans going south and east, whereas a large migration from West
Asia/Urals/Altai/Zagros mountains at the same time went from East (the
steppes) to Western Europe, where Haplogroup 3 coming from N. of the Black
Sea and the Altai and Ural Mountains/Zagros Mts. of Iran met up with
Haplogroup 1 coming from the Levant to N.W. Europe/Ireland/Denmark/Iberia.
Later, Haplogroup 2 moved from the Levant to N. Europe with the neolithic
wave of migration. As for mtDNA, T is found in East Europe at 22%, and H in
Western Europe at 46%-60%. So apparently there was a migration from Albania
(mtDNA H largely) to Crete as well as a migration from Egypt (U6, HV,
pre-hv, J) to Crete in the bronze age, and all these N. and S. European and
N. African and Levant populations were absorbed along with Phonecian
populations mixing with Thracians from Romania/Bulgaria/Moldova, all in the
same small island during the Bronze Age. How neat.
