Since I'm especially interested in mtDNA haplogroup I, I noticed this
unusual sample in that Spanish police database. I wanted to ask Ann or
anyone with enough scientific background what is meant by the heading,
"Length heteroplasmy."
Sample 34:
16129-A;
16183-C;
16189-C;
16223-T;
16311-C
73-G;
146-C;
199-C;
204-C;
250-C;
263-G;
315.1-C
And under the column for "Length heteroplasmy," it says,
"poly-C stretch 16184-16193."
I'd like to know what that means. This is a rather uncommon haplotype,
I think, especially the 16183C and the 146C in haplogroup I.
