Thank you so much for this information. I will keep it on file as I search for deeper roots back to Norway. My Jamieson participant has a very specific family tradition of his ancestor being an aid to the King of Norway, and being given a large land grant in the west of Shetland. All very interesting and grist to the mill. There is so much yet to be learned - and yet in one day, thanks to Listers, I have been given solid information and leads that will prove useful in meeting the goals of my project. Thanks all.
