Yeah Janet, it's a real shame that some people are so parochial about
"their" family research, even to other family members. A sister of my
mother in law did a lot of "conventional research" on her parents (great
grandparents of my kids) in the '80s & '90s, but do you think she'll share
it with me? Since she's pushing 80, I guess it'll get trashed when she
dies, like the situation you described. I'm sure she doesn't have anything
that I couldn't find and eventually, maybe I'll take some trips & find out
more about them but I just hate to hear of duplicate efforts, in the same
family.
Also a shame that some folks are so resistant to change of any sort. This
"old dog" has learned a few "new tricks" over the last few years, and
others ought to be open to doing the same.
