David et al...
Additionally all of us must remember that genealogical, and DNA, research go
hand in hand in hand....and that verification and validation of information
can be done online..
It took me 16 years by mail to put my LOWE family together will letters and
other mail from West Virginia cousins.... Today with the internet I can
"rough" out a complete lineage of a family from 5 or more sources if folks
have loaded the information to the INET as your cousins have done with the
WILLIS family who married into my Zachary's in Virginia...
However the real tool is DNA testing results posted online by researchers
like us looking to verify these "paper trail" lineages with +99%
accuracy....
I look forward to the day that our grandchildren will FIRST get their DNA
tested....and then go to the INET to match up their DNA with genealogical
lineages connected to that DNA.....and not by SURNAME which has always be a
handy "tag" for Millers who were millers, carpenters who were Zimmermans,
Baileys who were Castle guards, and other names associated with a place
and/or a trade or some other item.....
So I constantly remind myself that the goal here is to match DNA and not the
SURNAME.....

The internet is just a tool, just as DNA testing is just a tool.
