Kay,
I don't want to seem naive but if my mother and grandmother were only
children, where would any cousins come from?

just to have it. I've had several matches - no connections - but I feel like
it might be significant someday - and maybe to some cousin's descendant long
after I'm dead and gone will be glad to have it. They will learn more about
mtDNA and what can be told by it. I just wanted my line "represented" in
some historical sense. It may have been a waste of money tho. I'll look
forward to what others here say on that. Maybe you could find a cousin or
cousins on your maternal line who would like to have your results too and
would split the cost with you.
