R1a is very rare. So far it's only showed up in Armenia and Belarussia, in
the latest Hammer study. Here's the R1a1, the more common type showing up in
52% of Ashkenazic Levites.

R1a1 (HG3) 13 25 15 10 11 14 12 12 10 13 11 30 15 9 10 11 11 23 14 20 32 12
15 15 16

Why, it's the Viking haplotype! Note that 52% of Ashkenazi Levites have HG3
which also is found in Norse Vikings. It got into the Ashkenazi Levite
population 1,000 years ago from one man or only small number of men. It's
unkown whether it came from a Viking who mated with an Ashkenazi woman and
whose son was reared in the community or from the Khazars, Sorbs, or Norse
settlers in E. Europe. However it got in, maybe it brought the blond and
redhaired elements to the Ashkenazi population as per Red Buttons, Kirk
Douglas, Danny Kaye, etc. all of whom resemble "Vikings." Anyway, Here are
some of the markers. It's origin is Central Asia to NE Europe and then on to
W. Europe. Today, it's found most frequently in Georgia.
