Hello, all and Happy New Year!
I have been enjoying all the recent DNAPrint reparté since the new
format results were posted. By virtue of Puerto Rico's over 500 years of
insularity and history, I believe I can safely say our members are the
truly most representative group of admixture of all 3 major groups, IE,
NA, SA. As for EA, I had a new reference to an article abstract (just
came out) concerning EA and NA which I cannot find but I will look for.
Goes without saying, not all of our 40 plus have had their DNAPrints
done, but many have, some are still waiting for results and new ones
have been ordered. So, I just thought I'd pop in and share not debate a
few interesting results from a few members from our quiet little
(Amerindian) Puerto Rican Project :-) :
1. mtDNA Haplogoup A, yDNA R1b (suggested): 50 % IE, 45 % EA, 8 %
NA, 2 % SSA
2. mtDNA Haplogroup C, yDNA R1b (suggested): 83 % IE, 3 % EA, 14 %
NA, 0 % SSA
3. mtDNA Haplogroup C, yDNA R1b (suggested): 64 % IE, 0 % EA, 12 %
NA, 24 % SSA
4. mtDNA Haplogroup L1, old version DNAPrint: 55 % IE, 0 % EA,
45 % NA, 0 % SSA
5. mtDNA Haplogroup A, yDNA E3a (suggested): 76 % IE, 14 % EA, 0
% NA, 10 % SSA (not elpadre)
Number 4 is the daughter of number 2. As you can see in #2, not
everyone comes up with SSA.
Cheers!
Ana
