Maybe their Viking ancestor was spreading his DNA around a bit.

The Davisson DNA matches 23/25 one of our R1a1 Childress members,
however his DYS 449 has a value of 34. The Childresses seem to trace to
the British Isles. The results also made me think that perhaps there was
a major adoption event in the Davisson-Harper-Childress background.

This is extraordinary. Your husband matches 25/25 both my third cousin
William Harper and a John Edward Harper (exact relationship uncertain,
but
could be a fourth cousin). I match these two and your husband 23/25 (so
there were mutations in my line and not Willam's). The differences for
me
from the two Harpers and your husband are 459b - 9 and 464d - 15. Our
family
is confirmed as R1a and what is more peculiar is that we all have a
value of
35 for DYS 449. This is very rare (less than 1%) and right at the top
end of
the range for this marker. Are you sure that his name is really
Davisson?
What is his family background? Ours derives from probably Scotland
(Ayrshire) to Co. Monaghan Ireland.
