Lucy:

With all due respect, if you had asked your uncle for the pictures,
during the normal course of genealogical research, you would have found
the pictures of your ancestor who "looks Native American," anyway. Your
uncles' DNAPrint 2.0 BGA test results don't prove anything about your
minority ancestry. The fact that a small MLE percentage of NA showed up
on their tests merely provided a catayst which prompted you to look for
more information. If people start looking for NA ancestors based on a
small percentage NA MLE from this test, there's going to be an awful lot
of disappointed people out there!

But Ray, you're missing the point!
The small amounts are just as possible
as they aren't! AND, the point is that
it is a good reason to CHECK it out!!
Any normal person can deduce that the
smaller the %, the smaller the chances
are that it could be found.... and to each
is their own comfortable % of when it'd
be worth researching further.
Just because you wouldn't bother unless
it was around 30%, doesn't mean that
that's where it's comfortable for anyone
else. Lucy is proof that sometimes, a little %
is a good reason to check it out. Even IF she
would have found it out by pictures EVENTUALLY,
doesn't mean that the test results didn't do
what I said it could do. On the contrary, it was
BECAUSE of her results that made her do
the research, which hadn't been done prior....
and THAT'S the point!! It moved her to
do the research. It just so happened that her
research backed up the DNA results!! :-)
