Debby:

The Nez Perce Indians speak a Penutian language, and live in
Idaho--about two thousand miles away from the Abenaki, who speak an
Algonquian language. So, I guess your grandfather was part-Abenaki and
part-Nez Perce?

When, and if, you are able to prove your ancestor was American Indian,
THEN you will have shown nothing more than that your 1% NA test result
prompted you to look for it (though, with a family tradition of it, I
don't know why you hadn't called your aunt before this). This will not
prove anything about the accuracy of the test.

When do you plan to look for your Sub-Saharan African ancestors, which
the DNAPrint test has "proved" to you that you have? At 12%, they
should be a lot easier to find.
