Hmm... well I think some of you are being overly
defensive/protective of your surname study. The guy
just put out there a statistic. He clearly stated it
was limited to the top 200 names (you have to draw a
line somewhere). He gave them Kudos. He didn't say
the others weren't achieving their objectives, nor did
he say that it was THE single measure of a product
(above all others). We could debate endlessly the
criteria for a project of "merit" but do we really
need to? Everyone has their own objectives and it
could be comparing apples to oranges. I just think
that his appraising comment was blown out of
proportion - give the guy a break. I thought it was an
interesting statistic and that's all it is ONE
statistic.
