Subject: [DNA] new articles and videos are up on the Web on searching SE Europe and Middle East
Date: Thu, 01 Apr 2004 09:50:51 -0800
New videos and articles are on the Web on searching genealogy records in
specific parts of the former Ottoman Empire. Interestingly, although the
languages were diverse, the DNA was not so diverse, since countries such as
Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Moldova, etc. tracked the migrations out of
Anatolia 7,500 years ago. Interestingly, mtDNA in Albania matches much mtDNA
in the Basques, about 77% H haplogroup, whereas the neighboring countries
have a lot of U3 (Iraq) and U4 (Armenia/Eastern Turkey to Estonia and
Finland ) migration routes out of Central Asia and the Urals. The small U2
population coming from India to Europe (Italy and the Adriataic) branched
off into U2i for India (presently) and U2e for Europe.
