Dear Ken
Thank you for your inputs re my report on GeoGene SNP results.
The McDonald Institute Monograph pub.
'Neanderthals and modern humans in the European landscape during the last
glaciation', editors Tjeerd H.van Andel & William Davies, pub. March 2004,
is available from booksellers and Amazon.
My notation of, M168+/M89+/M170+, reads, M168positive, M89positive,
M170positive, indicating the results of the SNP test.
I like your studied input on the Gravettian population and R1b/R1a.
The raw data in the publication will surely help you decide on how the
M173 and M170 cultures combined to produce the post glacial spread
of settlements; pinpointing the most likely centres for future research
as Dolni Vestonice, Czech Republic, for M170, and Abri Pataud in the
Dordogne, France, for M173/M170. Longtitude and latitude points are given.
These two places could very well be regarded as the source areas for
todays M170s and M173s.
Best wishes, Alan.
