Genealogically speaking, your haplogroup is not important -- your haplotype
(the complete set of mutations) is rare, so if you have a hypothesis that
you
share a common maternal ancestor with someone, matching haplotypes would
provide strong confirmation of that.

Questions Ann (or any of you knowledgeable aboard),
I've looked and haven't found anyone, except one that I match with in my
HVR1 & 2 in FTDNA that has JUST 315.1C as a mutation.
The closest I came was one that had 2 mutations including mine, and was
wondering..... could this mean that being closer to CRS is rarer today than
back then? And wouldn't this be a bigger help then in finding the maternal
ancestor of which I match to if she is that close to the CRS sample?
And wouldn't we be able to trace the women through the mutations themselves
from the CRS sample by following the mutations one by one?
Is there a table that describes the mutations and their probably causes with
the timeline in which it occurred?
Thank you in advance for your time!
Warm Regards from Maine,
Debby Reagan
