That's very interesting. I was trying to think if we've had any reports of
known relatives where a mutation has occurred, and I think you may be the first.
Not that many people test close relatives, for one reason. One study of
mutation rates found 3 instances in 705 transmission events. This paper has an
awesome pedigree from Iceland:
