Pray tell how could an "expert" come to the conclusion that someone who is I1b is a Spanish Jew! My guess is that you got the Sardinia and San Paulo info from the YSTR database which cannot differentiate I1a (typically Scandanavian) from I1c (which may be an archaic signature in Spain since Neoloithic times or well before). Others correct me if I am wrong, but there is absolutely no way on this planet you could conclude that your ancestry is Spanish Jewish with this haplogroup unless you have genealogical data to support this hypothesis. I do hope this is available, or you may be in the process of being led hopelessly astray.

Shalom,
My brother's Dna was recently tested. We were surprised to learn that he
is a I1b and probably
(according to some experts) descended from a Spainish Jew. His closest
matches were in
Sardinia and San Paulo. Our surname is Michael and our original ancestor was
from Germany
He imigrated to York co Penn. and then to North Carolina. The family were
first known to be
Lutheran and then Methodist. My brother said he is often asked if he is
Jewish, but had no
reason to think that we had Jewish background until now. If you would like
to know his dna
results I will give you the links to his report.
Let me know what you think. Thanks Jackie
