Thanks for the help Ken.
I think some Brewer's were Dutch and some may even been German. When New
York was owned by the Dutch and named New Amsterdam, there were people named
Brouer or Brower living there. Some of them Anglicized the surname after the
English took over and the name of the town became New York.
