James, Interesting! I'm most interested in the specific geographic and
temporal factoids in your message. Where did the estimate of 3 or 4
thousand years ago for arrival of Vanir come from? Is such a number in the
myths or dragged in from modern academics trying to put context on the
myths?

What is the basis of the claim that the Vanir and Aesir came from the east?
Are people simply extrapolating from the view that just about everybody
coming to Europe came from the east? Or was that in the myth stories?
Where's the best reference for the "Huldre"? What, if anything, is said
about them other than that they were there first? What is the source of the
assertion that the Huldre were already in Scandinavia for "several thousand
years"?

I think now is the time to compose my message about the hard evidence for
the separate arrivals of the R1b, I1a, and R1a peoples into
Fenno-Scandinavia.
