Subject: Genex -- new laboratory in Seattle

This just came through with my Google automated search.

http://www.genexdiagnostics.com/special/aboutgene.php#

At first I thought it was the same lab that Orin Wells mentioned last year
after seeing an article about it in the paper, but I checked the archives, and
that was Genelex. Genelex was a reseller (at inflated prices, as I recall), but
apparently Genex does their own laboratory work.

I wasn't able to find the link that listed the markers they use (20, 30, or
44/45 marker panel), so I fired off an inquiry. I think the website might be a
recent launch, as I saw inconsistent prices and marker numbers on different
pages. They also list some forensic samples that could be processed for an extra
fee.

They claim fast turn-around, but it appears to be a "just the facts"
laboratory. At least I didn't see any mention of extra reports or services. It could
be useful in situations where you want independent verification of results. The
lab is certified by the AABB for paternity testing (not an easy thing to
achieve).
