I see no rhyme or reason as to which messages are plucked out of the
thousands of extant posts. Messages naming several different testing companies have
been moved, as well as posts which completely omit the name of a company. One of
mine was removed last August from a board that has six messages total and no
admin at the time. (I became the admin, which allowed me to date the ambush by
looking in the "Recycle Bin." I had a different paranoid theory about why I
was personally targeted, but it certainly doesn't explain all the activity.)

Others have written to me with several different and ingenious paranoid
theories. These easily flourish in a vacuum where we receive no feedback about
what's happening and why. One thing which makes me especially upset is that people
are not even notified of what has happened to their posts.

I do know that some people regard DNA testing as overly "commercial" and
consider messages soliciting participants as spamming. For example, this message
announcing a Tussing project at DNA Heritage was probably posted to several
surname variant boards. The message is dated 2 Dec 2004 but only appeared on the
DNA board today. I'm copying the author on this e-mail to see if that's the
case.

However, this explanation by no means fits all the posts I see on the DNA
board. It seems that a handful are moved each day, a Herculean task if they
really aim to segregate all DNA posts into one board.
