Joe,
Thank you Joe for the words of encouragement to pursue my project. But
for the record, I am not in competition with the DNA testing companies
and I am not trying to give anyone a reality check. I am simply
proposing a new model to explain accumulating anecdotal evidence. We
need them . But I also think the need us too. We provide valuable
feedback which has allowed them to improve many of the "rules of thumb"
and models used to interpret Genetic Genealogy test results. Go back and
read the old List archives from late 2000, 2001, and 2002 and you can
see the progress we have made. This may or may not be another case of
that. Only time will tell. I am a searcher of truth/facts wherever that
may lead, both in my traditional genealogical research over almost 30
years, and for the last four years in my genetic genealogy research too.
My intention is to test my hypothesis. If it is correct it will be
beneficial to all. If I'm wrong I will admit it and move on. No one wins
and no one loses. The Log will be useful to Project Admins even if my
hypothesis is wrong. This is a win, win scenario from my point of view.
