This is of potential interest to me also. MY Harvey line is purported
to be of Norman origin coming to England with William the Conqueror.
This line has a fairly well established lineage from 1459 to the present
- with, of course, a lot of verificaton yet to be done.

Part of the verification is our Harvey Y-DNA study which currently has
16 members - 15 of which have been reported to the full level of testing
as ordered. Thus far we have developed 7 unique haplotypes. Two of
these seven haplotypes have 2 participants with identical 37/37 marker
matches. None of the 7 unique haplotypes are close at all to matching
any of the others.

If some/any of the Harvey ancestry is from France is it possible there
would there be enough similarity to compare with "typical" French
haplotypes to any degree of certaintity?

Our Y-DNA study is taking ALL Harvey participants regardless of
suspected ancestral origin.
